With the objective of enhancing the development of women in aviation, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in conjunction with the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA), is offering an Aviation Scholarship for a professional woman in this field.

IAWA Member MC Ernst was recently promoted to Vice President at United States Aviation Underwriters. MC assists in managing the New York General Aviation branch of USAIG and underwrites airline risks in addition to all lines of General Aviation including fractional programs, management companies, airports and unmanned aircraft systems. She also sits on the company’s paperless program committee. MC is the Connect Committee Chairperson for IAWA and coordinates many of the organization’s events, Connects, and Receptions across the globe. Three IAWA members, Ellyn Slow, Melissa Harder and Sharon Holahan, presented an Insurance Panel at the NBAA Tax, Registration and Legal conference in Bonita Springs on March 7th, 2017. Attendees were from the Banking, Operations, Regulatory and Legal sectors of the Business Aviation Industry.

More than 40 women gathered in Dublin on Tuesday January 17 for a special IAWA reception sponsored by Pillsbury and the Airline Economics. The event was held during the largest conference in the aircraft finance industry with close to 2,400 delegates gathering from all over the world and including lessors, banks, airlines, manufacturers. Dublin hosts many leasing companies which employ a large number of women. Among IAWA’s famous members, Helane Becker and Betsy Snyder were among keynote speakers and panelists on various topics.”
