More than (20) organizations around the world support the III EMLA-Women Aviation Leaders, Latin America and Caribbean, organized by the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA), to be held on February 28th, 2018 in Mexico City. The event will be attended by the Senator María Cristina Díaz Salazar who will be the Key Note Speaker, as well as by several other authorities and personalities of Mexico and other Latin American and Caribbean countries.
The purpose of this forum is to encourage the development of women in the aerospace and aviation industries, and to motivate new generations of women to become part of these industries. The campaign #MujeresEnAviación that is being conducted simultaneously with the event’s campaign is expected to highlight the role of women in leadership positions within the aeronautic industry.
Among the panelists there are representatives of the highest international organizations, such as IAWA, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the National Chamber of Air Transport of Mexico (CANAERO), the Mexican Federation of Aerospace Industries (FEMIA), the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), and the Space Generation Advisory Council. There will also be representatives from the Civil Aviation Authorities of Mexico, Ecuador, Panama and Argentina and from the Mexico City Airport Group. The airline sector will be represented by Cargolux, Aeroméxico, and American Airlines, and Air France – KLM – Martinair Cargo. The manufacturer sector will be represented by GE, ATR, Boeing, Bombardier, Airbus, MD Helicopters, and other representatives of the aviation and aerospace industries, such as Aireon, TRU Simulation + Training, SITA, Iridium Communications, CNLE Law, CIMAD/IPADE, Valencia & Sánchez, The University of Querétaro, and Aviatur Colombia.
The forum will analyze the current situation of the aerospace and aviation industries in Mexico and Latin America, and the new technologies out there that impact them, such as artificial intelligence, biometric check-ins, and satellite communications, among other. Aspects related to gender equality in the industries, the difficulties of recruitment, human talent training and the inclusion of new generations will also be addressed.
