IAWA is proud to announce our 2025 Scholarship recipients. Each student has demonstrated a passion for aviation and aerospace, embodying our commitment to Lifting Women in Leadership

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Amanda Hoyt is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, with minors in Aviation Business and Aviation Safety. Her academic focus reflects her commitment to both the technical and operational aspects of the aviation industry.

Beyond the classroom, Amanda is actively involved in her community and the aviation field.  She serves as President of the Granite Mountain chapter of the Ninety-Nines and as a Campus Academic Mentor at Embry-Riddle.  She is also a Big Sister through the Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters program. In her free time, Amanda enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and exploring new music.

She is deeply grateful for the opportunities provided by this scholarship, especially the chance to attend the 37th Annual IAWA Conference and benefit from the guidance of experienced aviation professionals.  Amanda looks forward to discovering her path within the aviation industry and, with the support of mentors, growing into a strong mentor for others.

Swinburne University of Technology

Lakshmi Vadlamoodi is a passionate aviation professional deeply committed to inspiring the next generation of aviators. She has completed 13.5 hours of flight training on a training aircraft, giving her valuable hands-on experience in the cockpit.

As the founder of Lucky’s Book Collection, Lakshmi writes engaging children's aviation fiction to make the industry fun and accessible for young readers. In addition to her books, she regularly publishes insightful aviation blogs on LinkedIn, where she shares knowledge and sparks discussions on industry trends.

Her journey also includes conducting independent aviation research and actively participating in school programs to deepen her understanding of the field from an early age.

As an IAWA scholarship recipient, Lakshmi is dedicated to combining her academic knowledge, practical flying experience, and creative storytelling to continue contributing meaningfully to the aviation industry.

TU Delft

Anna Moscati is a Master's student in Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, specializing in Space Flight Dynamics. She completed her Bachelor's degree at Politecnico di Milano and took part in the Erasmus+ program at UPC in Barcelona.

At Skyward Experimental Rocketry, she was part of the recovery systems team, where she helped design and test multiple parachutes and contributed to the development of a guided parafoil system. As a Peer-to-Peer Tutor at Politecnico di Milano, she supported students in subjects such as Aerospace Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Applied Numerical Analysis, and Fluid Dynamics. It was an experience that taught her how to explain complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and take responsibility for others' progress.

Currently, as part of the Honours Programme at TU Delft, she is working on a project to predict satellite collision risks using AI techniques such as physics-informed neural networks and Transformers. It is a technical challenge that has pushed her to expand beyond her comfort zone.

Outside of academics, she enjoys traveling, skiing, trekking, diving, music, and spending time with animals. She also loves building things from scratch: one of her personal projects was designing and assembling a robotic arm, using CAD, 3D printing, and custom programming.

In September, she will begin a six-month internship at the European Space Agency. She wants to keep learning, keep creating, and stay connected to the people and places that inspire her. Ultimately, she hopes to help shape more inclusive, impactful space missions, and support a community where everyone who dreams of space feels welcome.

SMU Dedman School of Law

Grace Nobles is a native Texan and J.D. candidate at SMU Dedman School of Law. As a third-generation member of the aviation and aerospace industry, a passion for travel comes naturally to her; she has visited nearly forty countries on all seven continents and hopes to one day see Earth from space. Prior to pursuing a career in aviation litigation, she studied musical theatre and politics. In her free time she enjoys reading books of all genres and researching vegetarian restaurants for her next trip. Supporting and uplifting women is one of Grace's biggest priorities, and she looks forward to connecting with the incredible women of IAWA who exemplify her values and passions!

CRANFIELD UNIVERSITY

Purevsuren Sukhbaatar is an accomplished aviation professional currently advancing her expertise through an MSc in Air Transport Management at Cranfield University in the UK, where she also serves as an elected Course Student Representative, advocating for a diverse cohort of 49 peers from over 20 nationalities.

Building on a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University (USA), she has dedicated over a decade to MIAT Mongolian Airlines, the national flag carrier of Mongolia. Her solutions-driven leadership has been pivotal in the airline’s fleet modernization and expansion strategy—securing Mongolia’s first Export Credit Agency-backed financing for a widebody aircraft in 2013, pioneering MIAT’s inaugural sale-leaseback transaction for two narrow-body aircraft (2016-2017), and achieving significant cost savings during the pandemic through strategic partnership restructuring (2020-2022).

Outside of aviation, Purevsuren is passionate about music, dance, languages, travel, and mentoring young women.

As a proud member of the IAWA community, she looks forward to collaborating with like-minded women who share her dedication to innovation and inclusivity in shaping the future of the global aviation and aerospace industry. Together with others, she desires to connect, inspire, and lead.

McGill University

Victoria Alcaraz is an Air Traffic Controller and an LL.M. candidate in Air and Space Law at McGill University in Montréal. She has worked in demanding environments such as Aeroméxico and Mexico’s Air Navigation Service Provider (SENEAM), where she gained experience in guiding teams, ensuring safety, and leading through her voice. Recognizing the gap between operational practice and the legal frameworks that govern aviation, she decided to pursue graduate studies at McGill, focusing her research on international responsibility, air traffic management and aviation safety. She then interned with ICAO’s Legal Bureau, where she learned about the Organization’s work and assisted with legal activities. Most recently, she joined CAE in Montréal as an Air Traffic Services Instructor, training the next generation of Air Traffic Controllers.

She is deeply honored to be an IAWA Scholar and looks forward to connecting with women leaders across the industry, learning from their journeys, and contributing her own story to inspire the future of aviation.
