As Vice President Americas of the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), Kaaren Cramer champions the advancement of women in aerospace and aviation. Over the years, she has supported IAWA’s marketing efforts and was instrumental in producing the 34th IAWA Annual Conference in Lisbon, delivering a successful global forum that brought together leaders across the industry.
Kaaren is currently the Director of Engineering Strategy & Operations at Long Wave Inc., where she leads initiatives to strengthen organizational performance, optimize engineering processes, and align operations with strategic priorities. She brings more than 25 years of aerospace industry experience, spanning engineering, sustainability, and marketing leadership.
Previously, Kaaren served as Senior Manager of Environmental Engagement at The Boeing Company, where her team partnered with Engineering and Sales & Marketing to prioritize sustainability offerings and global campaign involvement. She also held senior roles across Product Marketing, Financial Analysis, and Economic Analysis, and later supported Government Services and Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Development as lead engineer for Engineering Operations.
In 2024, Kaaren completed the selective Accelerated Leadership Program, gaining international exposure through residencies in Germany, Poland, India, and Brazil. Her team developed a method and tool for assessing risks to business continuity from exogenous shocks—an approach blending cultural, operational, and engineering perspectives.
Kaaren also serves on the industry advisory board for the Aerospace Engineering Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and contributes locally as a high school track and field coach.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from the University of Washington.
